Everything’s better with a sprinkle of peanut butter – right?
So today I want to show you how you can make a perfect, creamy, healthy, easy, cheap and all natural version on your own.
Dosen’t that sound amazing? Almost too good to be true?
But well, it is as good as it sounds and I am here to show you how to do it.
Let’s start off with some background knowledge why you should eat peanut butter AND do it on your own.
Peanuts are a great source of natural fats, fiber and protein. Actually and despite their name peanuts aren’t real nuts. They are classified as legumes so are more related to beans than almonds!
Either way: Peanuts should be consumed regularly – of course only if you aren’t allergic to them!
And what could be better than adding some self and home made peanut butter to a smoothie or porridge?
Especially if it’s that simple!
I will show you how to make peanut butter with ONLY ONE INGREDIENT.
- Peanuts (unsaltend)
I always use peanuts that are already rosted, but if you can’t find those you can totally roast them yourself. Important: Don’t roast them with oil. Peanuts or nuts in general are very high in fat and don’t need extra oil. To roast them just place them evenly on a baking tint and put it in the oven for around 10 to 15 minutes at 180°C depending on your oven.
When roasted – put the peanuts into your food processor and start crushing them on a high level.
Just let your food processor do it’s thing. You may have to put down the edges of the mixture sometimes depending on how many peanuts you’re using.
When it has the right consistency (depending on your preferences) you can turn off the food processor.
You can now pour the peanut butter into your jars or use it straight away.
I get 2 jars of creamy peanut butter when using 900g of peanuts. You can store them in the cupboard but I suggest storing them in the fridge so it doesn’t get rancid.
Note: This way you can also make other nut butters!
Let me know how you like it!
See you soon
